Wow, 2 posts in 1 day!!!!

I know I just posted but I had some more pictures to share and I didn't want the last post to be a novel for everyone to read!!!! LOL!!!!

Yesterday Kayla wanted to dress up as Super Bunny (Max from the show Max & Ruby dresses up as Super Bunny) so I tied a blanket around her shoulders, put a hat on and then some sunglasses. She was having so much fun running around and posing!!! She was making Juliana giggle lots too which made feeding her supper next to impossible!!!

When I was bathing Juliana yesterday she was being so cute that I couldn't resist taking some pictures of her. And the second one of her was the crazy hairdo that I did when she got out!!!!

Fun times!

We had a fun weekend! We decided to leave Saturday morning to go to my parents instead of Friday night so we weren't so rushed when Jeff would get home from work. We turned Juliana's car seat forward facing for the trip since we figured it was only 2 weeks until she turned 1. We have a portable DVD player that Kayla would always watch so we got a 2nd monitor for it and put it in front of Jules, so they both sat there watching Care Bears on the way down. It looked so cute!!! Jeff took Kayla tobogganing in the afternoon when my nieces got there. I was really surprised that she was so brave. She even wanted to go down with my niece Emma who's 7. It was so cute to see the excitement in her face as she flew down the hill! I got some good pictures and some funny video too. We had the get together for my dad's and Juliana's birthday in the evening after supper. Juliana got a really cute deck chair from Christie & Joe and some cute outfits from my mom & dad, and Danielle & Anthony. She loved the cake too! She decided to plop her hand in it while we were singing to them!!!! And when Jeff was feeding her some later, she couldn't get enough!

We usually leave on Sunday morning around 10 to go home so we'll be home in time for lunch but the weather was not cooperating! We decided to go to church with my mom and see how the weather was going to be later. It was freezing rain so we didn't really want to take a chance with trying to get home. Around 3 we saw on the radar that the main part of the storm was gone over most of the 401 and was heading north so we decided to leave. It was pretty crappy for the first 1/2 hour or so and we even debated turning around but it got clear once we got closer to Chatham. I couldn't believe how many vehicles were in the ditch as we drove home. We made it home safe and sound and it only took about 20 minutes longer than usual. Kayla was so tired before we left that she fell asleep on Christie's lap in the rocking chair, it was so cute!

The famous Achoo video

This is a video that my dad shot when we were in the hospital having Juliana and they came down to watch her. I found it the other day and thought I would post it on here cause it's just too cute!! Kayla was doing this all the time whenever she would find a Kleenex!

Funny Video

The other night Juliana had been sitting in her high chair eating Cheerios and had knocked most of them on the floor. So Kayla went around and picked them all up and put them in her container. I looked over shortly after that and they were sitting there on the floor together and Kayla was feeding them to Juliana! It sure did make me laugh!!!

What a night!!!

To explain the post title, we had quite the night on Sunday! First of all, we went to Bible study and put the girls in the nursery. There were 2 young girls (couldn't be any older than 14) watching about 6-8 babies. Kayla was the oldest and they ranged down to about 6 months old. Not that I think that 14 is too young to babysit, but for that many babies I was always a little nervous. We got done our study and went up to get the girls so they could have a snack and Kayla was laying on the floor sobbing. It wasn't the typical temper tantrum cry, this was a deep in the soul sad cry. The girls were sitting in chairs with the rest of the kids watching a movie and just ignoring her. They said she had been crying like that for the last 10 minutes. What I didn't understand is why didn't they come and get us. She was clearly upset and crying out for mommy and daddy but they didn't bother to get us. The one girl said they tried everything to calm her down but she wouldn't stop crying, well obviously not! They've come down to get other parents in the past if they kids were upset or something. I felt so awful for Kayla cause you could tell her heart was broken. She even said "I want to go home" when we were hugging her and she never says that. When we were driving home I was asking her if she wanted to go back to the nursery next week with the nice ladies that were there in the morning and she said "no, I don't want to go to the nursery, I want to stay home', so I have a feeling that it is going to be a fun time trying to get her to go again. At least in the morning they are mothers and know how to deal with kids a little better. For example, when I got in there in the morning, the lady came over and helped get Kayla's coat and boots off and came and grabbed Juliana from me. When we dropped them off last night, I had to walk over to the one girl and hand her over to her cause she would cry if I just put her on the floor and walked away. I could tell that she didn't want her too much cause she was playing ball with a bunch of the other kids. I don't think we'll be bringing the girls with us to Bible study any more. That just broke my heart to see Kayla crying like that. I know kids have to get used to rejection etc eventually but she is only 2 1/2!!!!

Now, the second part to the "what a night"! We got home a little late so I put Jules in bed while Jeff showered Kayla. I was getting Kayla dried off (no diaper on yet) when I heard the loudest thud ever. It felt like the house was exploding! Followed by a loud cry. Juliana must have gotten on her tippy toes and had just enough momentum to push herself over the railing. I went in and she was laying on her back on the floor, so it looked like she had done a somersault and landed upside down. The poor thing, she wouldn't stop crying for a while, so Jeff got out of the shower and came and stripped her down to make sure there were no bumps, bruises, broken bones. She wouldn't stop crying and kept putting her hands to her head. Jeff said that people bring kids into the emergency room for falls like that, so I started freaking out that she had a concussion or something like that. I called Mary (Bob's mom, she's a nurse) and she came over and looked her over. She said she seemed fine but she did tell me to go in in the middle of the night and try to wake her up to see if she does and to keep an eye out for vomiting or something like that. Luckily she slept fine and was fine the next day, but that could have ended so much worse. She did say that babies bones have a lot more cartilage so they are a lot more flexible than adults, so for a fall that would maybe end in a broken bone for an adult, is just a bruise for a baby. So, before we put her back to bed Jeff lowered the crib to the lowest setting. We had both thought over the last few weeks that we should do it but we didn't think she was tall enough. Boy, were we wrong!!! Bad parents!!!

Juliana isn't even slightly upset over that whole falling out of the crib incident. She's still climbing on things that she shouldn't be and she's as happy as can be. And I asked Kayla last night if she would go back to the nursery with the nice ladies and she said "yup, and baby nona too" (that's what she has called Juliana since she was born, and it's actually what a lot of people call her, nona). Now when the time comes, will she go willingly???? We'll see!!

We're going to St. Thomas this weekend to visit with my family to celebrate my dad's birthday and Juliana's birthday. I can't believe that she is going to be 1 already! Man, does time fly! I was just at t
he dentists this morning and we were talking about setting up the date for Kayla to go to the party they have for 3 year olds to introduce them to the dentist. And then it hit me, she is going to be 3! Next thing I know I'm going to have to sign her up for school (ahhhhh, don't mention that yet!!)

Anyways, I thought I would post more pictures again.

Whenever the girls do anything cute, Kayla always say "mommy, take a picture" so I had to take a picture of this.

Kayla decided to empty out the bag of blocks and sit in it. It was too cute to not take a picture!

And I know Jeff will probably kill me that I posted this picture but I thought it was cute! He had just come back from a call so I surprised him with taking his picture!!!

Happy Birthday Dad!!!!

In case you read this today, I just wanted to post happy birthday to you, dad!!!!

Juliana got a new tooth yesterday, which would explain the lack of sleep she gave all of us the night before! She's starting to be a little less cranky so I think that's what was bothering her. She woke Kayla up around 6 so she wouldn't go back to sleep either. Kayla still isn't used to no nap yet so she's still a little bear sometimes!!! They both slept really good last night. I woke up around 8 and thought "What, neither of them came in or cried out during the night, yes!!!!" Jeff and I are going on a date tomorrow night. I'm looking forward to it cause we haven't been out with just the 2 of us in a while and he's been working lots so it will be nice to spend some time with him. I think we're going to Montana's (yum!). I thought I would post some pictures again today.

This one is of Kayla feeding Juliana her bottle after she insisted on it!! Then she says "mommy, you have to take a picture, go get the camera". What a goof! Juliana's like "what is she doing?????"

Here's Juliana eating some toast for breakfast this morning. She has been refusing to eat from a spoon when I try to feed her baby food so I'm trying to get her to eat finger foods. Most of it ends up on the floor but at least she's trying!

Here's the 2 little loves of my life cuddling on the couch this morning. They just love each other so much!!! (Hopefully it stays that way!!)

Anyways, I'm off to do some laundry. I hope you all have a great weekend!!!

Holy Snow Batman!!!

We certainly got dumped on last night!!! This is the most snow we've had all year. One bonus of having my husband be on the fire department is other firefighters come over and dig our drive way out!!! The problem with our house is between ours and the neighbour's there is a wind tunnel and it builds our drifts up about a foot about everyone else's!!!! I was supposed to go to the dentist this morning but there was no way I was getting out so I had to call and reschedule. I guess I can't complain too much about the snow since we haven't really had any yet!!!

The boys working away

There are supposed to be bushes under there!

The girls being thankful that they don't have to go outside!!!

We're a bunch of sickies here :(

Juliana ended up getting a cold yesterday. Luckily I caught it before she went to bed so I was able to get some medicine into her. I also plugged in the vaporizer and a Benylin Vapour plug. If any of you get stuffed up with a cold or have kids that do, those things are life savers! I used to use a warm humidifier and put the liquid stuff in the little well but when Kayla started sleeping in a bed and I was worried about her getting out of bed and touching it, I found those in the store. There is a little pad that has the menthol stuff on it and you just place it in the plug thingy and it heats it up when you plug it into the wall. It's pretty strong too, so it works really fast. They aren't cheap though but it's worth it in my mind considering there's no risk of the kids burning themselves on hot steam, since there isn't any. Jeff started to get stuffed up last night too. Only once I would love to be the only sick one so that I could get the babying and be taken care of. Whenever we are all sick, I'm the one taking care of everyone else!!! Oh well, I guess that comes with the territory of being a mom!!! This morning Jeff got a call around 6:30 so he didn't get home until after breakfast. He had smashed his thumb with a wrench so I got to be the "mom" again and bandage him all up! I always tell him he could do it himself but he says he likes the attention (and honestly I like to baby him!). I don't think he needs stitches, it wasn't too bad, I just hope he keeps a band-aid on it so it won't get infected.

I have an exercise video that I do called Walking Away The Pounds. It's basically just walking at a brisk pace but then there are arm movements that you do and you use hand weights too and also kick, knee ups and side steps sometimes too. Anyways (yes I ramble a lot!) while I'm doing it, Kayla usually sits there and watches me and I'll ask her to do it with me but she usually doesn't want to. At the end of it there is a part where you stretch and she'll do that with me. Last night while I was doing and during one of the times that Juliana woke up before Kayla went to bed, I was just in my way into her room and I looked back at Kayla and she was standing in the living room doing the exact stretching movements that I do! It was so precious!!! I love how kids copy you and learn so much by just watching what we do. Like when Kayla would say thank you for something I would say "No problem", well if anyone ever says thank you to her, she always says "No pwablum"!!! On the other hand, if they copy us for something we don't want them to, that's not so good! LOL!!! For example, sometimes if I get frustrated with something I'll go "ugh" sort of loud. I noticed once when Kayla got frustrated that she did the same thing!!!! Kids are certainly good for a laugh!!!!!

Anyways, Jeff just got home from a meeting so I'm gonna go spend some time with him. Have a great night everyone!!!!

(I know I just posted pictures yesterday but I find that so many things happen here during the day that I'm constantly taking picture!!!! If I post too many, just let me know and I'll try to cut back :P)

This is how Juliana fell asleep during her nap yesterday!!
She looked so cute that I just had to take a picture :)
(note how her soother is on her neck!!!)

The other day I was taking close up pictures of me to show
someone my new hair cut and Kayla wanted in on it too. I took
a bunch of them in a row but this was the most precious one!
She was doing her typical crazy dance!!!

Cute Bath Time Video

I took this video a few days ago when I was bathing the girls together. It sure is a time of giggles!!!! I certainly don't wear anything important since I end up just as wet as them by the time we're done!!!!

A Band-Aid and a sucker fixes everything!!!!

I'm in the process of getting rid of Kayla's afternoon nap. She has been so cranky this week. She whines at the drop of a hat and gets upset over anything. I know it will only be a few days of this but it's not fun! I thought it was time to do this because she would stay in her room playing for a while and wouldn't fall asleep until after 2. Then she would sleep until 3:30 or 4 (I would try to get her up but she would be a bear or she would fall asleep on the couch) and when we put her to bed at 9 she would stay up playing in bed until 10-10:30. Now that we've gotten rid of the nap, she falls asleep almost right away at night. It kinda sucks in a way cause those afternoon hours were mine. I didn't have to listen to a kid asking me questions, crying or anything like that. That was my time to eat lunch, exercise and get some stuff done that I can't get done while they are up. It's certainly an adjustment on my end too. I think if I need that quiet time I could just put Kayla in our bedroom and pop in a movie or something. I still eat lunch and exercise but while I'm doing those things, she comes up to me and asks me all kinds of questions. Oh well, what can you do!!

I swear, I don't know what it is but Jeff and I are not meant to have a night to ourselves!!!! All this week, if he wasn't working, he got a call. Last night we thought it would be the first night all week that we were able to spend the whole night together, nope!!! He got a call around 10ish. This week he's working lots too. He's only got 1 or 2 nights free. At least Valentine's is one of them! We aren't doing anything that night but Jeff is taking me out for dinner on Saturday after my get together with the Essex County girls. We'll probably just relax that night. That is unless he gets a call!!!

We didn't end up going to Bible study last night. I was feeling like crap, every square inch of my skin hurt to touch and every joint in my body ached. Plus Jeff didn't get home until after 5 so he wanted to stay home. I still made the food and then he dropped it off at a couples house that live near us. Plus we weren't in church and the whole topic this week was the sermon from the morning. Next week we'll be able to make it.

It's so funny, Kayla was sitting in her high chair last night and Juliana walks ups to her and rips her sock off. Kayla started freaking out so Juliana grabs the other one and pulls it off too!!! Right now while I'm typing this Kayla is sitting on my lap, and she pulled off her sock again!!!! Juliana just walks away and giggles and Kayla gets upset at her. Oh I can tell this is the beginning of that lovely sibling rivalry!!!

As I was sitting here typing Kayla dropped a toy she was holding onto. She hopped down off my lap and knocked her chin on the desk. There was a tiny little scrape so she had to have a band-aid. I couldn't resist taking a picture of it! And when I post a picture of one, I have to post a picture of the other cutie!

Anyways, I'm off to do some house work, have a great day everyone!!!

Just some pictures

I plugged Juliana in this morning so she
could keep her crazy hair!!!!!

Last night Brandon (my nephew) made a fort for Kayla!
Too cute!!!!

Welcome!!!

Hey everyone! I just decided to change over my blog. I was beginning to feel that the one about my weight loss was too personal to share with everyone that was reading it. Sorry! I've decided to make one just about the things that go on around here with my 2 crazy girls. I won't be posting as often as I used to but I will put lots of pictures up. Have a great one everyone!!!
